Outfit of the day: 70's inspired sleeveless high neck blouse

Hi babes,

I hope you are all well! For those of you who live in Jozi, you'll know how crazy hot it has been lately! We were actually going through a heatwave a week or two ago which made dressing for work tricky - because it's not exactly like you can wear short skirts or crop tops haha! One simple way I like to avoid the heat is by wearing high neck sleeveless tops - because they're still quite sophisticated but obviously more heat friendly. There are other ways to get around the heat, but this is my simple way of doing it.

As you all know by now too, I am a print kind of girl so I love this blouse from Mr Price! It's actually 70's inspired but I have modernised it with my platform heels and skinny jeans. And I have chosen to wear my hair up because the blouse is already quite bold and I didn't want to hide the neck detail with my hair.

The 70's look is quite in at the moment - and what I love about it is the fact that you can make it work for you - like I said, I chose to modernize it as that is more my vibe. And Mr Price have a whole bunch of items that are 70's inspired at the moment!

Outfit of the day: Midi dress love

Hi everyone!

As we get closer to the end of the year time just seems to go by so fast, and we just seem to get busier and busier... The last thing a busy girl needs is the stress of deciding what to wear... what pants or skirt matches with what top, and so on... That is one of the many reasons I love dresses so much!

For this look all I had to do was throw on this gorgeous dress I found at Cotton On, add some heels and accessories, and I was ready for work! So quick and simple! I really love this dress - it fits well and is the perfect work-length. With tight dresses like this you don't want to "over-do the sexy" - especially for the work environment. As you are already bearing quite a bit of arm and some leg, you don't want to go and show cleavage on top of it. The high neckline on this dress is perfect for that! Cotton On has quite a few different styles of midi dresses out at the moment, so definitely go have a look!

Outfit of the day: Superbalist online shopping

Hi babes,

So as you may know, Ast recently did a blog post on her shopping experience on Superbalist. You can check it out here.

Today is my turn and I am really excited to share my experience with you because I know a lot of you have a fear of online shopping! But let me tell you - once you get going, it's pretty dangerous for your bank account haha - there is just so much stuff and it is really - REALLY convenient. Never mind the fact that they always email you amazing deals and keep you up to date with the latest trends!

My shopping experience on Superbalist was effortless - besides the struggle I had picking what I wanted (because I want it all). The whole experience from browsing, to purchase, to delivery was wonderful! And I even had to go through a return process because I didn't fancy the fit of the first pair of jeans I ordered - and the whole return process was just as seamless, so no stress for me yay!

I chose a pair of ripped black skinnies for R499. Find the jeans here. And to my delight, because I was signing-up, I got R100 off my first purchase, so I decided to throw in a cute tee for R125! Find them here.

Below I will address some of the most common worries girls have chatted to me about when it comes to online shopping...

What if it doesn't get delivered?
I have done a lot of online ordering, and trust me, credible companies always deliver (and if they don't, they'll sort it out for you). I had no doubt that Superbalist would deliver - they're a super popular brand and everyone always raves about them - and of course Ast has ordered from them before when she bought her Nike sneakers.

What if it doesn't fit or if I don't like what it looks like on me?
Fear not lovelies, Superbalist makes it super easy to ensure you pick the right size! They have sizing charts with each item and it is really not too complicated to work out. And if you do happen to get it wrong, returning your item is so easy! When I went through my return process, I literally logged onto my profile, selected the item for return, picked a new item and there we go! Superbalist then shortly called me afterwards to confirm that my return was accepted, my item was picked up the next day and a few days later, my new item arrived - and might I add it fits perfectly! My first order actually did fit, I just didn't like what it looked like on me.

Is delivery going to cost me?
On some online store yes, but on Superbalist, no. Free delivery is one of my favourite things about Superbalist! And my return was free too!

Anyways, check out my outfit pics below. I paired my black jean skinnies with my tee and added nude heals and gold jewelry to dress up the look for work.

Outfit of the day: Superbalist dress to express!

Hi everyone,

So I think it is safe to say that dresses are probably some of my most favourite summer staples! From maxis to minis, I love them ALL. They are just so effortless and chic! For today’s look I feature this gorgeous button-down shirt dress from Superbalist.com.

It is no secret that V and I love Superbalist.com. Not only do they have the best products, their service and delivery time is out of this world! We are definitely big fans! At the moment they have a HUGE selection of amazing dresses on their site so be sure to check them out, just click here

Shirt dresses are really easy and comfortable to wear, making them perfect for the warmer days of spring and summer.  I wore this outfit to work so I paired the dress with some strappy sandals and a studded waist belt for a more put-together look. But shirt dresses are so versatile and can very easily be dressed up or down. They are well suited for more formal occasions, but they are also perfect for wearing on a casual basis. The key to achieving such versatile looks is to be clever with your styling.

Here are a few tips on how to wear a shirt dress

  • Keep it simple and casual by pairing a denim shirt dress with a cute hat and sneakers.
  • On colder days, add tights under your dress or layer a sweater over to almost make it look like a skirt.
  • I you’re not really into showing off your legs you can even wear a shorter shirt dress over leggings or skinny jeans.
  • If you are into more of a casual ’90s vibe, pair your shirt dress with a cute pair of Birkenstocks.
  • Gladiator sandals also look cool and unexpected with a loose fitting shirt dress.
  • Some styles of shirt dresses can be a bit too oversized and shapeless. To overcome this and accentuate your figure, cinch it in your waist with a belt or fabric tie
  • Feel free to add some fun accessories to your look, like a pretty scarf, a straw hat, and a patterned bag, for some added dimension.

Outfit of the day: Floral, bold print

Hi babes!

Sorry for the delayed post, it has been a long weekend here in SA so Ast and I have both been out and about traveling the country!

Anyways, my outfit of the day today is inspired by my excitement for the upcoming summer months. I know many girls shy away from bold prints and colours - but I personally love them. Sure, it does mean you can't wear the top too often as it is very identifiable, but I know that when you do, you make a statement.

And on another note, I got this top off Spree's crazy sale! I think it was worth around R300 but I managed to get it for like R70! Spree always has amazing deals so make sure to subscribe to ensure you keep in the know.

Anyways, here is my outfit of the day. I paired my bold top with neutral black heels and denims to ensure the perfect balance.

Outfit of the day: Green Utility Shirt

Hello everyone,

Lately I have been really loving this army green utility shit I got from Spree. I am such a girly girl, so when the military trend was coming into fashion, I wasn't too sure if or how I would wear it. But I decided to give it a go. When it comes to fashion trends, I find the key to creating a stylish outfit that works for you, isn't about following the trend explicitly, but instead learning what suits you, your mood, personality and putting your own spin on it! I glammed up this army green blouse by pairing it with my favourite smart black pants nude heels and some gold accessories for a chic and work appropriate look.

Outfit Details:

Utility shirt: Spree (R299 avaliable here)
Black pants: Woolworths
Shoes: Mr Price (Last season but similar available here, here and here)
Necklace: Cotton On
Watch: Marc Jacobs

Outfit of the day: How to wear a denim shirt

Hi babes!

V here...

Wow! Although it is technically still winter here in SA, it feels like Spring has already arrived! We're already whipping out our sandals and short sleeve T's - even though our skins should see some sun before we do such things haha! ;-)

Anyways, my blog today will be discussing the all-time classic - denim shirt! I only recently purchased one and I am obsessed! It is such a wardrobe staple - I do not know why it has taken me so long to get one! With that being said, many people struggle to wear it. Here are some of my ideas that may help you:
  • Denim top, black pants/jeans and red, black, camel or nude heels/sandals
  • Denim top, black shorts/shirt and red, black, camel or nude heels/sandals
  • Denim top worn open with a white/black vest underneath
  • Denim top (lightish colour denim) worn with very dark denim jeans - it is ok to mix denims, as long as they are different in colour - or it may look OTT
  • Denim top tied over a cute summer dress
We often PIN many of these ideas, so check out our Pinterest page for more inspiration!

Anyways, here is my outfit of the day...
